"they found a tumor on my pituitary gland"

My love for running began in middle school when I first beat the best runner in my school at the mile & then becoming mostly undefeated throughout middle school track (I lost an 800m race once in 7th grade & a 2400m in 8th) I had also played football in middle school so I had to choose between football and xc. My Ma begged me to do xc because I wanted to play football with all my friends and just run track for the rest of the year. I decided to give it a try. I thank her every damn day for asking me to try it. I ran with the seniors in varsity & it was a great experience. As soon as the season was over I got very sick. It got so bad that I was admitted to the hospital where they found a tumor on my pituitary gland close to my brain. When the team heard about what happened to me, they started planning a "spaghetti dinner" for me. They raised enough money for us to buy a car so we can drive up to the Children's hospital a few hours away. Well moral of the story: my ma didn't just convince me join an amazing sport but also a family & although all of the running I did didn't help very likely contributed to me becoming so sick after the season; I regret nothing.
