"the people on the team convinced me to stay"

I almost didn’t run cross country. I first tried out for the cross country team in 7th grade to improve my stamina for soccer. My 7th grade time was 23 minutes for 2 miles. I really didn’t want to continue running, but the people on the team convinced me to stay. Well I worked hard and improved my time to 11:20’s during my 8th grade year. Fast forward and now I run 17 minute 5k’s as a sophomore, and I still have a long way to go, but I’m determined to finish off strong and further improve my time by my senior year.. Don’t ever quit. Work hard and you’ll be successful. We all have to start somewhere…
