"in those 10 minutes, i fell head over heels with cross country"

Okay, so I thought I'd give this a shot and if you post it great and if you don't then oh well. But my I almost didn't run xc post is a little different. I started running and enjoyed it a lot the summer before my freshman year. I was planning on doing track. I did diving in the fall and track in the spring that year. Diving was okay, but I hated track so I decided not to do it again. My dad told me I'm better at running long distances and that I would love xc and should join my sophomore year. Unfortunately, I was afraid of trying something new, so I stuck to diving since cross country and diving interfere with each other, but I just ended up being miserable during diving and my sophomore year and didn't have many friends. Flash forward to my summer before I enter my junior year. One day, a rainy day in June I decided to randomly go for a run, I believe this was serendipity because while running I ran into the xc team, luckily I knew someone on the team, Emma and she said I should join in on their workout and luckily I also knew the coach because he said it was okay. I worked out with them for about 10 minutes, but in those 10 minutes I fell head over heels with xc. So, I decided to train with them in August. It was rough at first, but I stuck to it, made varsity, and made some of my best friends on that team. This is totally cliche, but xc is like a family, they welcomed me with open arms and became my family, and it's an experience I'll never forget!
