"I was getting really frusterated with volleyball"

From 2nd grade to my freshman year I played volleyball and I was pretty good, but not the best. So mid season of my freshman year I was getting really frustrated with volleyball bc there was a lot of drama and I was just getting tired of volleyball itself. One day in weights 2 girls I didn't really know came up to me and said "hey come run xc" and I was like "it's mid season I can't do that, I can't run that far, are you crazy?" long story short they needed a good/decent 5th runner to have a good team score to make it to state as a team. and that we did. my freshman year I wasn't very good, but then again I practiced only with the volleyball team and then went to the xc meets (I only went to about 5 total including state) following that I had a great track season with those same girls and made really good friendships with them. this year, my sophomore year I quit volleyball and focused on cross country alone. our team made it to state again this year, but this year I got all state (17th, which is far from the previous 90th something). The two girls who really got me hooked on running cross country and track graduated today and it really made me realize how good of a decision running cross country was and it made me want to share my story
