"I heard from the 8th graders that sprinting was hard"

The only reason I started distance/cross country was because I heard from the 8th graders that sprinting was hard. I ended up one of the best 800 runners at my school and freshman year won state in cross country. I'm heading to college to run cross country and I thank those 8th graders every day that I didn't become a sprinter.
