"I started getting recruited by college coaches, it felt unreal"

I enjoy the stories you're posting so I figured I would tell you mine. I almost didn't run cross country. I never had any interest in running. But on the first day of freshman year one of my teachers suggested I try it out. So I showed up to practice having not run much at all while the team had been training all summer. I got better over the next couple of years. Senior year I started getting recruited by college coaches. It felt unreal. Now I run at a DII school, and I enjoy every minute of it. Cross country is my life. I probably never would've joined if my teacher didn't suggest it to me that day. I can't imagine my life without this sport.
