"I began having some issues with eating and started starving myself"

I almost didn't run cross country. I had actually never even entertained the idea of joining the team. But towards the end of freshman year, I began have some issues with eating and started starving myself as well as over-exercising. I joined cross country at the start of sophomore year as a way to make sure I lost enough weight. I ended up realizing two big things: 1.) Running is fun 2.) You need to eat in order to be able to run Running became so important to me and I eventually began eating again. Running saved my life and I am so grateful. I couldn't imagine where I would be today if I didn't have XC.
