"I wouldn't change sports for the world"

I joined cross country my freshman year, after failing at two years of junior high volleyball. At first I wasn't sure if I could stick it out because I could never see myself as a distance runner. I was a very shy girl and I just switched schools so I didn't know anyone. Once practices started, the entire team adopted me as their own and became my new friends at my new school. I later got to know everyone in the small school and have grown close to my xc family. Last year I ran varsity as a sophomore and got to run at state too! Now everyone knows me as a runner and I wouldn't change my sport for the world.
