"I was absolutely terrible and had no stamina"

I almost didn't run cross country. Well I had never even planned on being a runner in general! I used to be a figure skater and was planning on joining the figure skating team but stuff happened and that plan fell through. I then thought, "what if I did track?" so that year I did track and I was talking to to the coach and he said that in order to become a better runner, I should do cross country. I was absolutely terrible at it and I had no stamina but as the season went on, I slowly started getting better and developing an appreciation for the sport. Fast forward, the upcoming xc season is going to be my last one ever and xc has helped me make so many friends and I believe it's truly changed my life. Signing up for cross country has had to be one of the best decisions that I've made :)
