My Last Meet.

My Last Meet.

It’s the night before my last high school meet ever. And all I can think about is the amazing memories I got to make these past few years, being apart of this team.

After years of running together, I was the only one to stay out for Cross Country this year. It’s not because I’m good, it’s because I love running, I love getting to bond with my team. I love the feeling of a PR, and I love the days where we lift and we’re all sore but we’re all happy.

There’s nothing in the world like being apart of a Cross Country team and as I approach this State Qualifying Meet, knowing it’ll be my last high school meet- I’m so incredibly glad and grateful I decided to stick with this team, throughout the injuries, throughout the days when it was just me, throughout every pain I’ve ever felt- there’s no love like the love I have for my team and my sport.

Thank you to everyone who has inspired me with their stories on this blog, thank you for being so strong and sticking with this crazy thing we all love. Thank you for allowing me to believe in myself throughout every season. Thank you so much.

Thank you to my teammates for encouraging me through every meet, through every work out, through all that we do. Thank you for being my team this season.

And a last thank you to my coaches, who’ve encouraged through everything I’ve ever gone through, who’ve helped me with math homework, for letting me not just be their athlete but someone who they truly care for.

Thank you to Cross Country, for being tough, for being hard, for being amazing, for pushing me to the brink, for allowing me to realize that my body can do amazing things. Thank you for helping me see that I am strong even through my pain.

Cross County, I love you. Good bye. ️
