"I felt like I was worth something when I ran"

I almost didn't run cross country. I told people that if I did run it would be over my dead body. That was in middle school. Now I am an almost sophomore in high school who is running cross country and loving it. My team is like my family. We share a really strong bond. We are two schools combined onto one team but we all act like we came from the same school because we are that close. Cross country saved my life because I felt like I was worth something when I ran. I felt free and all my emotional pain from bullying was turned into physical pain. It is just a great sport.
