I proved them wrong.

I proved them wrong.

I was told I wasn't fast enough.

I was told I was too young.

I was told I didn't have the experience.

I was told my injury screwed up my season.

I was told not to get my hopes up.

I WAS TOLD.

And I proved them wrong.

I proved I was fast enough.

I proved my age didn't matter.

I proved that experience didn't matter.

I proved no injury was going to stop me.

I proved that hard work and dedication will go further than hopes and dreams and being told I can't.

In the end, it doesn't matter what everyone else says, it only matters what you do. Words are simply words. Actions are what really matter. Actions prove what words can't. If I had listened to their words, I wouldn't have made it. Instead, I worked in silence. I worked harder than I ever had. I used their words to fuel me. I took those words and pounded them into the ground with every step I took. I took those words and I showed them the clock. I took those words and proved that the girl who was too slow, too young, too inexperienced had too much fight in her to believe those words. She was too competitive to let their words be the end. She had too much passion, too much drive. She was not going to back down without a fight and in the end she didn't. In the end, she proved them wrong.
