Why I choose to run

Why I choose to run

Why I choose to run: Running is my outlet for a multitude of aspects in my chaotic life, Running relieves stress, Running immediately lightens my mood and makes me happy, Running is my go to activity when the going gets tough. Yes I will admit, there are times that I do not necessarily enjoy running maybe if I am having a bad day or if injured. But I always find peace with running no matter how my body might be feeling. It's different every single day and each day you have to adjust your mind and body. If you are not a true runner, than this might be a difficult concept to grasp. It doesn't matter how much you succeed or win while running but how much you grow within yourself and how much you enjoy it. That is what I have learned most over my years as an elite distance runner. I have learned so much spiritually, physically, and most importantly mentally. I feel as if I am a more rounded human being and THAT makes the difference right there. Running will always be there for me no matter the age, time, or place. I rely on running and I can count on it to ALWAYS help me out when I need it the most. Running will be in my life for as long as I physically can do it!! I challenge all of you runners or non-runners out there who read this to run with pure joy and run with passion rather than to compete and win. In the end, winning doesn't matter but growing and expanding our horizon does.

Thank you for your time:) Run to inspire.
