Ryan Hall thinks a sub-2:00 marathon is possible on a treadmill

Ryan Hall, the American record holder in the marathon spoke with athleticsweekly.com and had this to say  "If you put someone who’s in shape to run 2:03 flat on a treadmill – and you put it at zero per cent gradient and you have the temperature controlled  – I bet you could get someone under two hours"

And then Hall went on to say “It’s that much easier to run on a treadmill, it’s perfect pacing, there’s no wind resistance, I think it could be done on a treadmill right now which is kinda cool to think about. I think we’ll have to wait a little bit longer until it’s done outside"

I have to agree with Hall on this one, a controlled indoor marathon going under 2:00 seems very possible in the near future, but all of this breaking2 and sub2 stuff seems like a lot of talk... It'll be interesting. Nonetheless it'll keep the running community on the edge of their seat with each major marathon.

Upcoming Marathon Majors..
