"Did I really want to be a runner throughout high school?"

Keep in mind the fact that the only reason why I did cross country was to get in shape for basketball. I joined xc my sophomore thinking that I was about to have the worst three months of my life. but those three months changed my life. I met the people I call my best friends now while being on xc and without them my life would be in shambles. I ended up being cut from the basketball and softball team a year later I joined xc. at that time I thought my life was over and was completely devastated. did I really want to be just a runner throughout high school? after joining track a year after joining xc, the answer was yes. running took over my life, and for the better. I've never been more passionate about anything in my life until I started running. Ive been having "depressed feelings" ever since 6th grade and ever since I started running sophomore year of high school, I feel like I have a purpose in life. it gives me something to always work at. it keeps me mentally sane. I've felt been living a happier and healthier life ever since I joined xc. obviously, running cannot completely relieve the depressing feelings but it definitely helped. my years of xc and track are now over due to me being a senior, but I do plan on running many half marathons and marathons in the near future and I could not be more excited.
